The Packard Eleventh Series for 1934 is renowned for its exquisite styling, crafted by designers Raymond Dietrich and Alexis de Sakhnoffsky. Their artistic flair shows in the vehicle’s skirted fenders, V-shaped radiator grilles, and new slotted bumpers that mimicked a double-bar look. The series also featured several other notable engineering modifications. Electrical enhancements were made as well, including an improved generator. This upgrade was necessary to power the newly available vacuum-tube radios in these luxurious automobiles.
Originally sold by Earle C. Anthony in Los Angeles, California, this 1934 Convertible Sedan has a distinguished history among collectors. Following its restoration, this example was bestowed with a Senior Division first place win by the Classic Car Club of America. Equipped with its inline eight-cylinder engine, and having been impeccably restored, this Eleventh Series Convertible Sedan is a lustrous representation of elegance that Packard was known for in the 1930s.
The Eleventh Series Packard Eights were one of the company's most crucial models. These automobiles played a vital role in sustaining business during the most challenging period of the Great Depression, until the arrival of "Junior" models in 1935.
