Styled by Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell, the Cadillac Series 62 of the early 1940s featured a dynamic and low body that reflected Cadillac’s confident “Standard of the World” reputation for luxury automobile production. For 1941, the hood design was updated to be lower at the front, incorporating the side panels and extending outwards to the fenders. A single rectangular louvered trim panel was placed on each side of the hood. Rectangular parking lights were now integrated into the top outer corners of the grille, while headlights were now built into the front of the fenders, with space provided for add-on fog lights. Three chrome trim spears adorned the rear portion of all four fenders. Rear fender skirts came standard on each of the Cadillac models at this time. Convertibles were equipped with All-Weather Power Tops which could be raised and lowered by a control knob on the instrument panel.

With only 3,100 units produced in total, the Series 62 Convertible Coupe is rare among collectors. Bodied by Fisher and paired with a sophisticated interior by Fleetwood, this restored 1941 Series 62 Deluxe Convertible Coupe features the burled walnut grain “Clear Vision” instrument panel, deluxe radio and steering wheel, and automatic heat. Though running boards could be special-ordered for the Series 62, this example was ordered without them, contributing to its sleek exterior appearance.
