“Lovely to look at…thrilling to drive”

Hudson produced the Hornet from 1951 to 1954, offering several distinctive body styles in coupe, convertible and sedan configurations. The Hudson Hornets were ingeniously designed with a functional "step-down" layout, featuring a lowered floor pan and a chassis that had a much lower center of gravity compared to other vehicles of the time. This design helped the car achieve superior handling performance. The 1952-54 Hornets dominated stock car racing, winning 64 out of 108 NASCAR races. This was achieved due to the step-down design, lightweight unibody construction, and the Twin-H Power and Super Induction options.

This 1953 Hudson Hornet Coupe, finished in its original color of Robin’s Egg Green, represents the graceful style of the early 1950s, and retains its 170 horsepower inline 6-cylinder engine. (The aforementioned options increased the rated HP from 145 to 170.) The car has been restored as necessary, and has even made a few past television appearances on B.L. Stryker with Burt Reynolds as well as a Florida Orange Juice commercial. Production of the Hudson Hornet continued with various design updates until 1954, when Nash-Kelvinator and Hudson merged to establish American Motors Corporation, shifting production to new models.
