1957 was an exciting time for the automotive industry with the release of some incredible jet-age designs. The Pontiac was tasked with revamping their image and with that came the ultra-rare Star Chief Bonneville in January of 1957. This sleek two door convertible is regarded as one of the rarest and most collectible Pontiac of all time with only 630 examples produced, each being allocated to a different dealer. The 1957 Bonneville included almost every option that Pontiac offered as standard including power steering, power brakes, eight-way power seat, Wonderbar radio, electric antenna, under seat heater, defroster, tri-blade wheel covers, electronic-eye automatic headlight dimmer, padded dash and a full leather interior. There were only two options, air-conditioning and a continental kit. This exciting new car was powered by a Rochester fuel-injected 347 cubic inch V8 producing 315 horsepower and was mated to a Strato-Flight Hydra-Matic automatic transmission.

The design included the well known waterfall grill, body colored headlight rims and illuminated front fender ornaments. For about a decade prior to the release of this car Pontiac featured rounded tail lights, but the Bonneville was introduced with elliptical shaped ones and just below that were the integrated exhaust pipes.
This 1957 Bonneville was restored in 2001 by John Denlinger of Lancaster Pennsylvania and went on to receive AACA Senior status shortly after in June 2002. It is finished in Ivory white over Kenya blue, the most popular color combination of all the 1957 Bonnevilles. All of the parts used in restoration were either original to the car or new-old-stock including the steering wheel, side trim, floor mats, hub caps, radiator cap, tissue dispenser, mirrors, hood and trunk light, and continental kit.
